Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Talk about a fashionable ride! Many thanks to Fellow Fashionista and Artist Fifi Flowers, who recently sent CC the following prize – a set of lovely note card prints of eight Fifi Originals, complete with CC’s fave, a gorgeously rendered bicycle in front of a clothing shoppe (see top left). Yay for winning fabulous artwork with a transportation/fashion theme! Be sure to visit Fifi Flowers Design Decor here.
A curious combo or a match made in heaven? Fashion advertising is heavily dependent these days on transportation, it seems. From the Jet Set glam of Michael Kors to Jil Sander’s Subway Chic, fashion is in motion!
Bicycles even made their way onto the runway at Agnes B. (right, via nymag.com)

Subway and tube provide a surprisingly glamorous backdrop (Jil Sander, left and Topshop, below).

Kors isn’t the only one cashing in on the glitzy lifestyle: Jimmy Choo ad via photobucket.com.
Editorials have taken to using cars and motorcycles as props, as in this "Love/Hate" spread in W, featuring Alexander McQueen.

This seems an excellent opportunity also to pass on an award CC recently received from the lovely Miranda of Sparkle Dust Fantasy. The Fabulosity Award goes to the aforementioned blogger Ana, whose blog, Fashion Moment, is one of the most exquisite (and undervisited) in the couture world – visit here asap!

On the Panel

Survey says? Paneled dresses are hot! Think bold color blocking, lace insets, and cleverly placed strips of fabric that either reveal or conceal, as needed.
